Ad trackers are one of many tools every marketer should be using.

If you’re not familiar with ad trackers or ad tracking, let me explain.

Whenever you market on the Internet i.e. classified ads, forum marketing, pay per click etc., you want to know how your ads are doing.

You want to know how many clicks you’re getting, if those clicks turn into buyers of your products, how the same ad performs on different websites, etc…

The only way you’ll get this information is to replace the website link you’re using with a tracking link.

This way you know what ads are working, and which sites respond better to your advertising and so on.

If you’re not tracking then you’re just marketing blind hoping things will turn out for the best.

You will spend a lot of time doing busy work not knowing whether or not your advertising is producing results or which advertising is producing better results.

You have to know what is or isn’t working for you. You can’t possibly fix what you don’t know. The only way to know what’s working is to track your advertising.

It’s not as difficult as it may sound. There are two main kinds of ad trackers. Each kind has its pros and cons.

There are free ad trackers, but they are limited in the functions as compared to the paid ad tracking services and software.

My recent experience of a well-known free ad tracking service going down for several days without any kind of notice or anything, kind of left a bad taste in my mouth for them.

I had no idea if the site was just down temporarily or if the company went out of business completely.

I didn’t even know how long the tracking links that were tied to this free ad tracking service would continue working.

You do get what you pay for.

If you plan to be a professional Internet marketer, then I suggest at the very least you start researching and comparing ad tracking software and services.

Sometimes going the free route, no matter how much simpler and easy it may seem at the time, isn’t always the best choice.

This site here gives a simple explanation as to the benefits of each kind of ad tracker and lists some of the top ad trackers around.

This should help.
